Day 1: Catania
Upon arrival at the airport of Catania transfer to Taormina.
Day 2: Etna and Taormina
Greek Theatre of Taormina. After breakfast, going away for Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe and âthe forgesâ of the god Hephaistos. Arrival at the cable car station (5.700 feet).
Depending on the weather conditions, possibility of taking a walk across the cold lava flow.
Break for lunch.
In the afternoon we will drive to Taormina, âthe pearl of Sicilyâ, where you will visit at our suggestion the Greek-Roman theatre; leisure time for shopping.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Siracusa / Catania
After breakfast departure to Siracusa, the wealthiest of the ancient Greek towns.
Visit at our suggestion to the archeological area including the famous latomie (quarry) of Paradise and the âEar of Dyonisosâ, the Greek Theatre and the Roman Amphitheatre.
The visit continues on Ortigia Island with its famous Cathedral and the Aretusa Fountain.
Break for lunch. In the afternoon departure for Catania; panoramic tour of the city.
Leisure time.
Overnight stay.
Day 4: Alcantara Valley Cooking Course
After breakfast, we will drive to the Alcantara Valley for a cooking lesson.
A walk takes us to the market where we'll buy fresh fruit, vegetables and all the features for the cooking course.
Back to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 5: Piazza Armerina and Agrigento
After breakfast departure to Piazza Armerina to visit at our suggestion the Roman villa del Casale, famed for its well- preserved mosaics dating back to the III°-IV° century A.D. Break for lunch.
In the afternoon departure for Agrigento to visit at our suggestion the Valley of the Temples including the Temples of Juno, Concordia, Heracles, Zeus and Castor and Pollux.
Back to the hotel.
Day 6: Palermo / Monreale
Martorana Church in Palermo. Departure to Palermo.
Visit at our suggestion the Cathedral and the Martorana church. Then continue to Monreale to visit the spectacular Cathedral and the Benedictine Cloister.
Break for lunch.
In the afternoon an optional tour to the âCapoâ market, Mount Pellegrino and Mondello - the summer resort of Palermo. Overnight stay in Palermo.
Day 7: Segesta / Erice
Today you will visit one of the most amazing Doric temples from the 5th Century BC, absolutely preserved.
Break for lunch.
In the afternoon you will visit the medieval town of Erice where we will taste the famous marzipan.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Palermo
After breakfast, transfer to the airport.
